Project for organizing the documentation of the Urban Commune of Fez<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Descripci\u00f3n” _builder_version=”4.8.1″ text_font=”Darker Grotesque|600|||||||” text_font_size=”22px” text_line_height=”1.4em”]This project was commissioned by Barcelona City Council to Arxivers sense Fronteres as an activity of direct cooperation with the Urban Commune of Fez, in order to carry out the treatment and organization of the documentary collection generated from 1912 to the present day. The need to organize the Archive of the municipal institution of Fez was motivated by the large volume of documentation stored in the three deposits that were in the basements of this municipal institution. <\/p>\n

The difficulty in operating the administration itself due to the collapse of its archive led those responsible for the Urban Commune to request collaboration from Barcelona City Council and, in turn, the City Council requested it from Archivists Without Borders.<\/p>\n

The project’s objectives include organizing historical documentation from the French protectorate period and also the administrative and management archive of the Urban Commune. The project consists of 3 phases during the period 2005-2007, with the organization of work camps for cooperation workers for technical support tasks in the basic treatment of documentation, the development of basic archive management instruments, the training of local technicians and the adaptation of documentation repositories.
