Presentation
Archivists Without Borders (AsF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization formed by volunteer archivists who collaborate in the development of cooperation projects in the field of archives and documentary heritage.
AsF was born in 1998 in the city of Barcelona through the impetus of a group of archivists who had been individually involved in solidarity and cooperation actions in the field of archives in developing countries.
War, natural disasters, political interests, poverty and ignorance or neglect are the main threats to the correct preservation of documentary heritage, especially in developing countries.
In this context, AsF represents the commitment of a group of people convinced that the values of solidarity and cooperation cannot be alien to a profession like ours.
MISSION
Promote and cooperate in the conservation of those documentary collections that are in danger of disappearing, while guaranteeing their correct treatment, so that they can be made available to society.

Objectives
Protect, organize and disseminate documentary heritage in danger of extinction or irreversible damage , through the design, coordination, development and dissemination of projects.
To raise awareness in society of the importance of the conservation and use of archives to guarantee respect for their rights, control of administrations, support for researchers, as well as a foundation for economic, social, scientific, technological development and the promotion of culture, the recovery of memory and national identities.
To support projects for the recovery, organization and dissemination of the archival function in accordance with the archival policies of each country, taking into account all documentary supports. their rights, control of administrations, support for researchers, as well as a foundation for economic, social, scientific, technological and cultural development, the recovery of memory and national identities.
Promote archival culture through technical training in archives , as well as offering advice on these matters to other entities.
To promote social, human and solidarity relations between archivists from different countries , as well as the protection and respect for human rights and the rights of peoples.
Promote an interdisciplinary vision and work in the intervention and study of documentary heritage through collaboration with professions close to AsF’s field of action.

Organization
Archivists Without Borders, according to their Statutes approved on January 21, 2008, it is a non-profit association made up of members (full-time, affiliated and institutional) that is structured around its governing bodies. These bodies are:
The General Assembly , made up of all members of the entity, constitutes the highest decision-making body for AsF’s actions.
The Board of Directors , which is the executive body that represents and develops the decisions made by the General Assembly.
Archivists Without Borders-Spain is part of the international network Archivists Without Borders International .

Corporate Identity
The current logo of Archivists Without Borders It has been the image of the entity since 2002 and is used in all communication channels and dissemination materials of the entity: website, social networks, letters, envelopes, sheets, cards and billboards.
It is a creation of designer Adrià Borrut and It represents an orange document inserted into a green globe . On the right side are the initials AsF and below the full name of Archivists Without Borders or Archivists Without Borders Spain, the latter when the name of the association is used as a section of the international network of AsF.
Its design symbolizes perfectly the main purpose of AsF, that is, the development of cooperation and solidarity projects in the field of archives and documentary heritage around the world.

Memories
Every year, Archivists Without Borders prepares an activity report , which includes the most significant information of the year.: dissemination activities that have been carried out, evolution of the NGO’s cooperation projects, economic balance, among others. The report is submitted to a vote by the General Assembly of associates.
