In response to the need for continuous training for archivists, and especially in relation to new electronic document management techniques, a seminar workshop was given to archivists from AsF-Peru. The objective was to introduce knowledge and implementation of the methodology of the Electronic Document Management System (SGDE) in public and private administrations, based on international standards, including ISO 15489 and MoReq. Likewise, several experiences of applying this methodology were shown, such as its application to the archives of the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Based on this experience, course attendees were able to see what the basic elements of a SGDE are, the structuring of information, metadata, security and the entire management process based on the life cycle of documents.
