Through this documentation, we can learn about the personal stories of those who failed in their attempt to make it to the Americas, and understand the power relations and class differences that existed within the emigrant community.

During the post-war period, aid to members due to illness was maintained and the so-called “aguinaldos” distribution was carried out, which demonstrates the importance and resources of the SBNC in those turbulent times, towards the end of World War II in Europe.

Another important series preserved is that of the Correspondence. The writings received or issued by the entity between 1914 and 1987 are preserved. This documentation allows us to obtain an x-ray of the relations of the SBNC with its own associates, with the Spanish administration and the Cuban administration, and with the remaining associations of Spanish emigrants, both Catalan and from other territories inside and outside Cuba.
