VII Conference of Archivists without Borders: Archives, Human Rights and Democracy. November 20 and 21, 2015.
On November 20th and 21st, at the Barcelona Maritime Museum, we will organize the 7th Archivists Without Borders Conference. This year, they will discuss the relationship between Archives, Human Rights and Democracy, aspects all of which are directly related to the work that ASF carries out in its various projects around the world.
By holding these conferences, we wanted to especially emphasize the importance of access to documentation by citizens for the defense of human rights, historical memory and transparency, elements that will allow us to take a step forward in democratic regeneration, in addition to vindicating the role of archivists as participants in this democratic revolution by exercising our functions in terms of transparency and access with the utmost rigor.
The conference program is aimed especially at managers of non-governmental organizations, aid workers, archivists, historians, students and, in general, people who are interested in or carry out activities related to international cooperation or linked to the field of documentary heritage management. You can consult it on the blog that we have created expressly for this event, along with the rest of the information about the conference.
As usual, these conferences, like all previous ones from our organization, are free. You can confirm your attendance at them at the following email address: secretaria.asf@gmail.com. Don’t forget to indicate your name, surname and the events you will attend.
Finally, you can find out all the information that appears about the conference by following the hashtag #AsF7J on our social networks.
